Apple Taste Test

We taste tested three apples, McIntosh, Granny Smith, and Golden Delicious. Check out their faces and they did it with such focus and concentration. Stay tuned to see which apple our class liked the best!

Roll and Record

We learned another math game to help practice writing our numbers today. First you roll the dice and then record whichever number you rolled on your grid. Ask your child some of the fun sayings we use to help remember how to write our numbers. For example: for a 5 we say- "down and around, but don't forget the hat on top!"

Applesauce Anyone?

We've been learning all about apples and even some apple songs. So today we made applesauce. We all took a turn at mashing up some cinnamon apples to make applesauce. The kids gave it a thumbs up!

Apples, Apples, and More Apples!

Thanks to all who donated apples for our class activities. Take a look at the generosity! You filled the crate from bottom to top! Thanks so much! You are all great!

Guest Reader!

Today we had a guest reader from 5th grade come down and share a story with us. She read, The Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything. She also just happens to be George's cousin! We really enjoyed the book.

Shape Snacks!!

On Friday we continued our shape exploration by bringing in snacks that resembled one of the particular shapes we had been working with in class. The students were so anxious and excited to share what their shape snacks were. We had some really creative ideas: Triangles: hershey kisses, doritos (which seemed very popular); Squares: cheese crackers; Circles: cookies, popcorn ball, crackers; Rectangles: crackers, kit-kat. We then sat down and enjoyed the yummy shape treats!!
